إن لأجهزة التنفس الأثر الكبير في حماية رجل الإطفاء وجهازه التنفسي من خطر الدخان السام واستنشاقه أثناء الحريق ويرتبط تركيب الدخان أو الغازات السامة وتأثيرها بالعوامل التالية :
1- نوع المادة المحترقة
2- درجة الحرارة
3- كمية الأوكسجين في الهواء
- ويكمن الخطر بنقص الأوكسجين عند رجل الإطفاء وإزدياد أول أوكسيد الفحم مما يؤدي إلى الموت . أو يكون له تأثيرات على الجسم البشري بأمراض عدة منها : 1- خلل في وظائف الكلية
2- = = = الكبد
3- = = = الرئة
4- نوبات شديدة تصيب القلب 5- تصلب الأوعية الدموية
-مما تقدم فلا بد لرجل الإطفاء من إرتداء جهاز التنفس لحماية نفسه أولاً ثم لإتمام مهمته ثانياً
أقسام جهاز التنفس ( الإقتحام ) والتعريف بها :
1- اسطوانة الهواء المضغوط : وهي تتسع ل 10 ليتر وهي بضغط 200 بار مصنوعة من الفولاذ المعير والمطلي من الداخل بمادة مقاومة للصدأ
2- ساعة الضغط : وهو مؤشر للدلالة على كمية الهواء المضغوط المتبقي في الإسطوانة
3- قطعة الوجه : وتحوي على البلورة وهي قطعة زجاج للرؤيا ومطاط لتثبيت القناع على الوجه وتوجد فيها أيضاً الرئة الأوتوماتيكية ومهمتها تنظيم الشهيق والزفير .
4- خرطوم الضغط المنخفض : وهو الخرطوم الواصل من منظم الضغط على الإسطوانة إلى قطعة الوجه ويسري فيه هواء عادي وليس مضغوط .
5-جهاز الإنذار : ويعمل عندما يصبح المؤشر على 40 بار ويشكل أوتوماتيكي لينذر رجل الإطفاء بأن الهواء المتبقي ليس بكثير ( للخروج من مكان العمل )
6- حمالات الكتف ومخدة الظهر : لتثبيت الجهاز على الظهر
طريقة الإستخدام :
- فحص الهواء المضغوط وتقدير الوقت الذي سوف يستغرقه خلال المهمة من خلال العملية التالية :
سعة الإسطوانة 10 ل مضغوطة ب200 بار
استهلاك الإنسان العادي ومن دون جهد 40 ل
- سعة الإسطوانة * الضغط = حجم الهواء داخل الإسطوانة
- 10 * 200 = 2000
- 2000 /40 = 50 دقيقة بدون جهد
- طبعاً تنخفض المدة إلى النصف وأحياناً أكثر مع الجهد والحالة النفسية لرجل الإطفاء
